Background

Kielisepät is a website developed by the University of Helsinki to support Finnish language learners by providing interactive online exercises, tips, and a community space. I was responsible for creating the visual identity and preliminary user interface design for this platform.

Goal

The goal of the visual identity was to communicate an approachable, informal, and playful atmosphere. Since the visual identity was designed exclusively for the website, there is only one version of the logo, tailored specifically for the website’s header and footer.

Overcoming Time Constraints

The project presented a few challenges, primarily the limited time available. At the time, my main focus was to work on the Kielibuusti website, which limited the amount of time I could dedicate to Kielisepät. Additionally, the team members working on the site were not professional developers, which necessitated a design that was simple and easy to implement.

Key Learning Outcome

Despite the time constraints and these challenges, I found the project rewarding and am very pleased with the final result. I’m proud to include it in my portfolio as a testament to the work I’ve done.
